For Job Seekers

Budgeting - From creating a spending plan to sticking to a budget or managing your debt, this workshop outlines ways you can commit to better spending habits. 


Credit & Credit Reporting - In this workshop, you can learn how to maintain healthy credit, improve your score, and monitor your progress. 


Dress for Success - Before the interview even begins, it’s important to create a great first impression. That all starts with your attire. Every job will have different dress code standards. Learning to dress for the job that you want is a crucial first step in your road to success.

Resume Workshop - Nearly every job requires a resume, which gives a brief summary of your education, employment history, qualifications, and skills. This document is what will lead you to an interview and potentially a job. 


Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) - WIOA’s goal is to better our public workforce system. That means helping Americans of all working ages overcome employment barriers and helping them find great jobs that they retain. We also focus on assisting employers in their search for skilled workers. 

For Employers 

Michigan's Work Share Program - This program is designed for employers who are resuming operations and bringing staff back to work from unemployment during COVID-19. Through Work Share, you can have your employees brought back with limited hours and your staff can still collect part of their unemployment benefits to even out lost wages. Employees who utilize this program also receive $600 in federal unemployment benefits in addition to state weekly unemployment. 

Other Resources 

LinkedIn Profile - A LinkedIn profile is comparable to an online resume. You can list your education, employment history, list of achievements or published work, portfolios, and skills. It also duals as a way to network with both employers and others in the workforce. 


Soft Skills - These 14 eLearning modules on Lifelong Soft Skills showcase the foundations you can master to be workforce ready in today’s era.
