Ludington-Based Company Receives Reimbursement For Training 37 Employees

Congratulations to Great Lakes Castings (GLC), or Ludington, for recently completing its FY22 Going PRO Talent Fund training plan to train 37 individuals on supervisor and leadership training, as well as machine repair, metal pattern maker and electrical technician USDOL registered apprenticeships.

This was GLC's third time being awarded Going PRO Talent Fund training dollars. They previously were awarded $5,250 in FY15 for electrical, SOP and problem solving training for six individuals. They also received $4,450 in FY21 to train 10 employees on basic manufacturing supervision training. Their FY22 award was for $30,000.

Although the 2022 (FY23) Going PRO Talent Fund application has come and gone, don't worry! There will be a second application period this coming spring! Stay connect to Michigan Works! West Central's website and social media channels for the most up-to-date information.

Eligible businesses can apply for up to $2,000 per individual (existing or new-hire employees) for training on a new or expanded skill. That amount increases to up to $3,500 per individual for USDOL registered apprentices.
