Award Presented During October Apprenticeship Launch Network Event In Kalamazoo

Congratulations to our very own Julie Sanders for her hard work to get our Early Childhood Education apprenticeship program up and running! Michigan Works! West Central was recognized by the Early Childhood Investment Corporation for establishing this USDOL registered apprenticeship program. The award was presented Thursday during an Apprenticeship Launch Network event in Kalamazoo, at which Julie also was a presenter.

There is a huge need for reliable and affordable childcare across Michigan, and our six-county region is no exception. At Michigan Works! West Central, we recognize this need and are partnering with local childcare providers to make it easier for individuals to obtain base-level training credentials to start a career in childcare through USDOL registered apprenticeship!

Julie's efforts have made the creation of this USDOL registered apprenticeship program possible. She diligently worked with local childcare providers, education providers and other community partners to outline the requirements for an Early Childhood Education apprenticeship program.

Thank you Julie for all of your hard work and dedication!
