Lt. Gov. talks with small business owners
Michigan's Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist made a stop in Downtown Big Rapids on Monday, Aug. 16, to talk with some local small-business owners, including Bernard and Kasey Agee at Fatty C's Dog House, and Brian and Carlleen Rose at The Old Pioneer Store and Emporium.
When stopping at the local businesses, Lt. Gov. Gilchrist asked business owners about their successes and struggles as entrepreneurs in general as well as during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fatty C's opened its doors amid the pandemic, while The Old Pioneer Store has been established for several decades.
Lt. Gov. Gilchrist was making several stops that day, including Newaygo, Lansing and others.
Michigan Works! West Central Executive Director Shelly Keene and Communication & Marketing Manager Jonathan Eppley were able to join the meet and greet with Lt. Gov. Gilchrist. Also in attendance was Big Rapids Mayor Thomas Hogenson, who currently sits on the Local-Elected Officials board for Michigan Works! West Central.
